Rehab isn’t just for celebrities and rock stars. Your well might be in need of some rehabilitation, and the warning signs aren’t always clear. Maybe the water pressure is nearly nonexistent, the water has turned rusty or you’ve lost water flow completely. Don’t panic just yet—you might not need to abandon the well or pay for brand-new well to be installed. Rehab is a viable option for many wells and can save you some serious dollars.
A number of factors have to be considered before a professional will recommend well rehab. These factors include ground formation, well construction and the problem at hand. At Mike Zimmerman Well Service, rehabilitation is one of our core specialties, and so is saving you money, time and trouble whenever possible. And we’ve rehabbed our fair share of wells in Utah and Wyoming. With a free consultation, it’s quick, easy and complimentary to find out if rehabilitation is the right move for you.
Does my well qualify?
There are several reasons you may experience drop in water production including plugs in the casing and even droughts. Well screens or perforations might have an encrustation. Common enemies of wells (which can also be relatively easy rehab fixes) can include iron, calcium carbonate, silt, clay and even slime. All the stuff that makes your well water “hard” can team up against you.
The only way to find out if your well can be rehabilitated is with an in-person consultation. During this process, a professional will administer a number of tests. This starts with a down-hole video camera and water quality testing followed by recommendations to bring your well back online.
How Does Rehabilitation Work?
One of two methods is commonly used: Chemicals can dissolve whatever’s blocking the well or a brush can be used to scrape away the buildup. If chemicals are used, rest assured that they’re well agitated and 100 percent safe. Z-Team uses chemicals to remove buildup. All chemicals use are approved by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and are designed specifically for well rehabilitation.
Before you use the well water, numerous tests are conducted to guarantee the safety and quality your H2O. Rehabilitation, when possible, is cost-effective, fast and safe.
