When to Schedule a Water Well Inspection
The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) recommends that residential and commercial well owners get their systems professionally inspected on an annual or biannual basis. Regular evaluations keep your water supply safe, as an experienced well service contractor can identify and resolve small issues before they become huge, expensive problems.
Between regular well inspections, watch for warning signs that your system isn’t functioning properly. If you notice any of the following, contact the Z-Team and make an appointment to get your well inspected as soon as possible:
- A change in the color of your water
- Sand or sediment in the water
- Your water has a foul odor
- Air coming from the faucets
- Low water pressure
In addition, you should schedule a professional inspection anytime your private well is serviced, the surrounding land is flooded or disturbed or you learn that a neighbor’s system is contaminated.
What a Water Well Inspection Includes
At Mike Zimmerman Well Service, we provide professional inspections to residential and commercial well owners in Utah and Wyoming – and we’ve been doing so for decades. The Z-Team has what it takes to ensure your system is in good working order and your water quality is up to par, and we don’t charge an arm and a leg for our services.
When you call on us for a water well inspection, we’ll give your system a thorough checkup. The tasks your contractor will complete include:
- A visual examination of the wellhead, sanitary cap, pressure tank, wiring, filtration equipment, and above-ground pumping components
- An assessment of the well pump and electrical equipment to ensure that the system’s power consumption is in line with its yield
- Water quality testing to determine if any groundwater contaminants are present in your private well
If we happen to discover any issues, we can recommend an appropriate fix and restore the safety of your water supply.
